Footsteps to Destiny

"The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love, O LORD, endures forever--do not abandon the works of Your hands.” Psalm 138:8 NIVUK

Many of us are familiar with the story of Joseph – Prime Minister of Egypt. His life story and divine destiny is highlighted in Genesis – Chapters 37-50. He suffered some unpleasant and unfortunate occurrences on his way from the pit to the palace. He was thrown into a pit by his jealous and hateful brothers, sold to Midianite merchants who then sold him to Potiphar to become a slave in his household. Afterwards we see Potiphar’s trifling wife accusing him of rape which led Joseph into the royal prison. It was there that he met the Pharaoh’s butler and baker, and from there, Joseph stands before Pharaoh to interpret his dream and reveal the solution for a coming natural disaster. History was made as a Jewish man became the Prime Minister of Egypt!

Now, could Joseph have fulfilled his purpose without going through what he did? Possibly! However, it was by God’s divine providence and for the sake of preparation that he went through what he did. Many of the things you and I thought were working against us were actually working for us. The situations suffered or experienced have been footsteps to destiny. For me, being let go from a certain job and suffering hurt years ago, led to me blog writing, doing ministry on the internet, and being used by God to touch the lives of many people outside of the traditional four walls.

If you will pause for just a moment and look back over your life, you will see how several situations led to you developing and blossoming into the person the Lord predestined you to be. You see, God doesn’t waste space and time in our lives. Some things in our lives were God-sent while other things were God-used for the purpose of writing your story. Your steps are ordered by God! Count it all joy, and celebrate your footsteps to destiny!
